How You Can Help

CES has several opportunities through which you can become involved.  To keep costs down so that more dollars are available for those with crisis needs, CES has a high volunteer base.  There are many "Volunteer Opportunities" listed below, all the way from office work to sorting food to interviewing clients and many possibilities in between.

Food is, of course, the main ongoing aspect of CES.  Food donations and/or funds to buy food are always welcome.  Because of our food purchase connections, any dollar donated to CES to purchase food goes 10 - 15 times further than your dollar spent at the store.  For example, at times, we are able to purchase hamburger for $.04 per pound.  Many other foods we can obtain for $.16 per pound.

Please see "Maximize Your Dollar" and "Top Food Shelf Needs" below to better understand how funds are used and to discover more about specific food needs.

CES has many programs which respond to those in need, including such things as rental assistance to prevent or resolve homelessness, assistance with shut-off notices for utilities, transportation costs for getting to work, funding for replacing destroyed ID cards to name a few.  The complete list of all programs is found in the Outline of Services.   Each of these require funding!  To run the programs efficiently, program staff as well as administrative funding is needed.
