Referrals to Other Organizations

 

This is a reflection of SOME of the agencies, ministries, services and resources with whom Community Emergency Service (CES) networks and to whom referrals are made. Please note the ways in which we are similar to or work along side. 

 

1.  Salvation Army

  • Heatshare - Heating (some electricity) assistance especially for the elderly and disabled
  • Furniture - Occasional vouchers for elderly and disabled
  • Food - back up food shelf
  • Clothing - winter coats, etc.

 

2.  Sharing & Caring Hands

  • Meals
  • Emergency Shelter for women and their children
  • Emergency transportation
  • Some medical and dental assistance
  • Some miscellaneous household goods
  • Discretionary funds for Minneapolis North Side

 

3.  Marie Sandvik Center

  • Clothing
  • Emergency Shelter for mothers and their children
  • Women’s Programs
  • Children’s Programs
  • Holiday Meals
  • Some crisis rent aid as available

 

4.  Second Harvest Food Bank

  • We network with them as a food resource

 

5.  Emergency Foodshelf Network

  • We network with them as a food resource and coordinator of member food shelf boundary areas.  Such food shelf boundaries minimize duplication of service or "double dipping."

 

6.  NorthPoint Neighborhood Services
     (formerly Pilot City)

  • Emergency food & housing for those on the North side of Minneapolis
  • Medical & dental assistance

 

7.  Anoka County Community Action Program
  
  (ACCAP)

  • Emergency food & housing for those in Anoka County
  • Social service agency meeting the needs of low income families/persons

 

Other Organizations

 

Just as there are many needs within the area CES services, there are also many other organizations with whom CES has a working relationship and many others that people are referred to as noted in the Networking List.
